Sure, you may still be thinking of comics as being (mass) produced by Marvel and DC – they certainly know how to do super hero torment, just think back to Superman’s and Batman’s latest revelations (did you know that Robin tried to kill the big bat at one point? Or that Superman left the Earth?). But one thing Marvel don’t do well is gay.

Too many gay Marvel characters have been re-written as straight, or killed. Killed in pretty bad ways too. Stabbed through the anus? Mmm, OK Marvel, we get it, you don’t like fags.

So fuck Marvel, they don’t need my money. I’ve started collecting overtly gay, sexy and surreal graphic novels from Class Comics. I say ‘collecting’ because one think I notice and like is that the creatives behind the comic books don’t produce too many editions – it’s easy to start at number 1 and keep up with them! (Their back catalogues are still mostly available too.)

When I was a teen, I found that comics came out too frequently, I didn’t have the time or money to keep up with them! But with the comics at Class Comics I can pick n choose and keep up nicely.

For now, Dean and I want to build a decent site that offers reviews of some of the smaller gay porn websites, with a focus on the UK and British lads.

Over time, we hope to get to know our readers and for you to get to know us.

In the future, I think we’d like to see the QueerChoice brand expand and move outside of hardcore porn and see what else we can review and recommend to the so called gay community. I think we want to connect with lads, well, with men, like us and see what sort of products and services a ‘normal’ gay man needs in his life.

Neither Dean nor I have a jet-set life or go clubbing with the ‘beautiful people’ every weekend. We’re never gonna have a six pack and aim to just stay slim enough to fit in our jeans! We’re just average guys with a little ambition. Nothing special, not Gay Times material, just gay.

Personally, I’d love to see QueerChoice earn a bit of money and get into amateur porn shoots.

I’d love to invite a long-term reader over to strip while Dean takes a few dozen photos! I’d like to be able to pay models for the privilidge of publishing their pics, but perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself. We need to get loads of content online before our readership becomes large enough.

I was working at a corporate event today (I’m a media whore; mail me if you need stuff promoting) and we were running card and roulette tables – we had a whole ‘James Bond’ thing going. Everyone was well dressed and I looked pretty damn good in my tux I reckon.

Anyway, I had the pleasure of working alongside young Richard today, and he’s a delight. He’s probably 25 but he seems so much younger on account of how innocent and trusting he is. It’s like every day is a big surprise to him, everything is new a fresh to him. He doesn’t have a cynical bone in his body – he is totally untouched by the grubbiness of the world.

For instance, he didn’t ‘get’ a single one of my double entendres today, nor did he notice when I ‘camped it up’ on the roulette wheel. Such (un)subtle nuances pass him by – in his mind that’s “just how people are” and he takes everyone at face value. It’s rather endearing.

We’re each carrying an armful of chips (the gambling kind, not the fried…) across the hall and we’re obviously overladen. He starts to drop his load and inadvertently careens into me, so now we’re both on the floor, sweeping up chips. We’re kneeling, facing each other and our heads come so close as we each reach forward for more chips that I could turn and kiss his cheek. So close.

We’re each getting our own colours; I’m scooping up scores of green and red, he’s reaching for blue, pink and orange. As we stretch for our colours, our hands reach closer to each other, until he’s literally scrabbling round between my legs and reaching under me, and I’m doing the same. We’re kneeling, reaching and leaning forward, coz y’gotta catch ‘em all.

His hand grazes the inside of my thigh as he goes for the last few blues that are virtually under my ass. He has no concerns, no worries, it doesn’t enter his head that I find it all a turn on – he’s pure innocence, he’s just picking up spilt casino chips, nothing wrong with that. Even if our faces are so close I can feel the heat from his cheek. Even if we’re sat almost on top of each other as we reach for those last chips. The frisson is killing me, but he doesn’t even notice that I’m extra smiley with him as we stand and continue on our way together. No ego; Richard doesn’t know how cute he is, or how attractive his purity is.

I genuinely want to reach out to him and let him know he’s got a lot of potential, that he’s smarter than he thinks he is, that he can earn more and do more than he’s doing. But it’s not my place, and I know I just wanna ‘rescue’ him coz I’d like to introduce him to good blow jobs and rimming. Straight boys are always bowled over by good BJs and a tongue lashing.

But it’s not to be; I gotta leave him be. Still, I ache to see such innocence.
